Here's a photo from the flight, tracking our flight path. What does "Caroline du Nord" mean?
The plane trip was very long, and I slept most of the trip across the Atlantic. I even had my own seat on the plane.
It was lots of fun to meet the flight attendants and make new friends on the plane. It wasn't scary at all, and I can't wait to get to fly again. By the time we landed, it was morning in Brussels, which was confusing because it seemed like it was the middle of the night.
After the plane, I had to take two trains and eventually got to Lille, France. The second train was a special kind of high-speed train. It was going to London. I thought London was on an island, so how is that possible?
Some pictures from the trains:
And a picture from the train station in Lille.
It was a very long trip, and I am so happy to finally be here! Keep sending me questions. Have a good day at school!

Yo Kyle!
How is the trip so far? Great pictures! What is your favorite food there? Can you understand what people are saying? Great blog!
Caroline, Harper track 1
Hi Kyle-
I am so happy you made it to France ok. I see from the weather report that you will need an umbrella today and it will be colder than here in North Carolina!
I liked the photo of you in the front of the plane and I cant wait to see more!
I Love you- see you soon!

Hi Kyle!!!
I see that you have been having a great time in France. I think there is a tunnel under the English Channel for the trains to travel in. Is it called the "Chunnel"?
I hope to see you soon,
Becca from Mrs.Harpers Class :)
hi kyle!
how are you?
what are people wearing?
What is the best part of France so far?
-Mrs Harpers Class WE MISS You!
what was it like in the cockpit...was it scary or really fun!! I've always wanted to ride in the cockpit...have fun!!!
Your friend, Megan
Hi Caroline,
I took some new pictures for you of some of my favorite foods. I don't speak much French, but I can understand a little bit. Lots of people speak English, so it isn't too hard to get around. And people have all been very nice to me.
Maybe I will learn French after I get home!
Kyle
Hi Abigail,
Thanks for checking the weather for me! I brought an umbrella with me at your suggestion, and I was so glad that I had it because it did start to rain.
Kyle
Hi Becca,
I've never been on the Chunnel, but it sure sounds like fun! Maybe I'll get to ride on that train another time. Thanks for helping me with that research!
Kyle
Dear Mrs. Harper's Class,
I'm so glad you're all enjoying my blog. It's great to know everyone is thinking about me while I'm gone.
See you soon.
Kyle
Dear Megan,
Seeing the cockpit of a plane was exciting and not at all scary. I went to visit before the plane took off, and the pilots were finishing their final preparations for the flight. They looked very busy, but they answered lots of my questions and were very nice.
Kyle
How is the food in france.Do you know what people are saying.
Dear Kyle,
We would like to know how many hours it took to travel from North Carolina to France?
Love, Mrs. Rhodes' 1st Grade
Hi Mrs. Rhodes' Class,
You can't go straight from Raleigh to Belgium. I had to fly to Atlanta, Georgia first. That flight took about one hour. Then, it was about an eight hour flight from Atlanta to Belguim.
The biggest problem was the time change. It is six hours later in Belgium then it is in North Carolina. So I left NC at 4:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday and got to Belgium at 10:00 in the morning on Wednesday.
I was very tired.
Love,
Kyle
